The Old Town Penobscot 174 is designed for touring & expedition paddling, and is based on heritage designs of the Penobscot Indigenous Americans. It works equally well as a Tripper or River Runner! The bow and stern have a steep almost plumb angle for improved tracking and the Shallow Arch hull with a slight rocker provide great stability and make the Penobscot an ideal canoe for touring inland waters such as lakes, canals, lochs as well as sheltered estuaries.

The Penobscot 174 measures 17ft 4", and is one of the most popular family canoes due to its size and stability. As a two person build there is plenty of storage space for extended canoeing trips or you could add additional seats if you wanted to take a couple more passengers along with you.
